We are listing him as having special needs due to his heart condition for which he takes medication twice daily. You would never guess him as a senior dog because he is active, playful, and very loving. He was surrendered because his elderly family could no longer care for him. He has no hearing problem at all in fact when he hears dogs on TV he looks right at them and responds with a reply bark. I would describe Hoover’s personality as polite and easy going and a joy to have around. He gets along with other dogs well and he enjoys car rides, is totally house broke and walks on a leash. He has lost most of his teeth due to lack of regular dental care so he eats softened dry & can dog food. Having a healthy appetite he also enjoys sweet potatoes and cooked cauliflower mixed in food or as a snack since most dog treats are hard for him to chew. We are hoping to find a loving and compassionate home out there, with a fenced in yard, where Hoover can live out his golden years while giving back joy, lots of cuddles and companionship in return. We show most of our adoptable pets at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday from 11 to 3. Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only. Adoption Fees - Senior : 9 years & up $100-$250 (Price depends on individual circumstances) - Adult : 2 years to 8 years $325 - Young adult : 6 months to 2 years $350 - Puppy : 6 weeks to 6 months $375 Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
