She is a Boxer mix, approx 2-3 years old, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She knows commands and loves walks. She wears a harness and walks nicely on a leash. This girl came into rescue weighing only 36 lbs, head down, wearing her hard life like a coat of shame. After much TLC, medical care and good food she now weighs 50 pounds, has a happy smile, sweet personality and soft, shiny coat. No more head hanging for her. She is a fun and playful girl - smart, eager to please and loves to cuddle. She loves her toys and will do just about anything for a treat! She is house-trained as well. One of the best qualities Taylor has is that she loves to play and will occupy herself with toys (it is hilarious to watch her). She is also just as happy to chill out on her dog bed and be a couch potato! Taylor is being fostered in a family with 2 older kids and absolutely adores them. However, she can be shy of strangers and has a protective bark when she is unsure about a stranger approaching. Proper introductions to new people are important as she continues to build her confidence. Taylor also gets along with other dogs with proper introductions and is currently living in a foster home with 4 other dogs. She does best with more submissive dogs. A meet and greet is required for any household with other canine residents. She would also enjoy being an only dog in a home. She has not been exposed to cats. She does have a prey drive (chases critters), so any introduction to cats would need to be undertaken with extreme caution. Taylor really needs a fenced yard and a 5-6 foot fence would be best. She once lived as a tethered dog, left alone in a yard for long periods and did not prefer that. She also does best with an oversized kennel (she currently has one that is 54 long x 36 wide) or could be shut in a bedroom when left home alone. She is quiet in her kennel and patiently waits for her people to return. \+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\++ We show most of our adoptable pets at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday from 11 to 3.
