He is good with dogs, cats, and kids and actually loves everyone who will give him the attention that he never had! Bear had been sitting at the shelter for over 5 weeks due to a neglect court case until someone decided to give him a 2nd chance in life and get him back to being healthy. Bear was unfortunately diagnosed heartworm positive but has undergone treatment and is now finished!! Bear would prefer children over 7 as he tends to get excited when he sees kids and likes to jump on them. Bear would like a family that will give him attention and some daily exercise as he LOVES going on walks! Bear would also be best with a fenced in yard, would enjoy a nice warm spot on your couch & bed, and also would love to have a canine playmate! Bear is in the process of undergoing obedience training now that his heartworm has finished up and he is one QUICK learner! Bear knows some basic commands and walks GREAT on a leash! You would fall in love with Bear if you met him as he loves to steal your heart away with his many kisses! ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm. Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.
Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.
Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.
